Alan is a Founding Member/Director and currently the Association's Secretary. He has previously been the association's Treasurer, founded the association's Newsletter and was its first Editor. Alan began collecting postage stamps when he was nine years old, after his Father gave me his collection. He thought this was great and the thrill of collecting stamps has never been lost.
By 1985 he was a part time dealer, selling mostly at stamp shows and fairs and at club meetings. In 1998, after retiring from a career as a management consultant he became a full-time stamp dealer known as Devalri Stamps. This was as an offshoot of the family company of Devalri & Associates Pty Ltd., Management Consultants, Australia.
In 2000 he joined the ASP as a Member/Dealer. In 2002, together with a group of like minded stamp dealers, he helped establish the Internet Philatelic Dealers Association.
Devalri Stamps provides a range of buying and selling services covering: British Commonwealth Stamps pre-1953, Worldwide stamps and packets, British & Commonwealth Postal History and First Day Covers. In addition, he offers a Philatelic Broker Service for Collectors & Dealers and a Philatelic Consulting Service for the identification, specification and valuation of stamps and an advisory service for stamp clubs who wish assistance with their organisation, administration, registration and marketing.
Alan auctions philatelic material through Ebay, Stampwants, and at other e-auctions and at some stamp shows and fairs, as well as from his web site (under reconstruction).
